It was a mistake as Pakistan’s first
Prime Minister had preferred to be affiliated with US instead of ex-USSR in
1950. Both superpowers were enthusiastically ready to welcome Pakistan due to
geopolitical situation of Pakistan. However Pakistan has chosen the US. What happened
then? The US president, as it being whispered, requested to Liaquat Ali Khan
that he may allow establishing a base camp for spying the USSR activities from Pakistan.
It’s also being believed that Liaquat Ali Khan had declined the request. He was
assassinated after his visit to US, in Rawalpindi within a year. The rest is
history and everyone knows that US has always supported the Army Generals
Governments in Pakistan. General Zia, Ronald Reagan and Saudi Arabian nexus not
only destroyed the social fabric Pakistani society but what we are observing militants
and all over the Muslim world were created and promoted by them. In which drug
and petro money were poured into Afghan war to defeat USSR...... What have happened
in past, leaving it to the history and if we are able to look forward, then it’s
an ideal situation for Pakistan to rectify its mistake and to change its
affiliation with US and turn it to Russia and China. However for this kind of
decision we must have a leader and that lacks at great level in Pakistan. This is
all what I have argued in this article.
